Bill Robertson

I am a sinner saved by grace and a parttime poet. I participate in Celebrate Recovery and have been sober since 04/09/2011. My wife and I are both retired. I love my life. I am truly blessed.

oчин хорошо!!! I've been accepted as a member of an on-line group of Russian speakers. Now I can brush up.

I know. I know. I'm not blogging on a consistent basis, but, hey - I'm here now.

Well. My manuscript has only been downloaded four time. Sigh.

I feel as though I'm going to be finding a new voice soon, leave the straight forward, prosey one behind. Maybe. Stay tuned.

Well. Here I am for the second day in a row. That's something at least. I can do this.

Sigh. I've given up hope of getting one of the part-time jobs open at the Plano library. They haven't even called me for an interview. That gets so discouraging.

The loml is going to be getting a shower and then we're probably going to the arboretum. That will be nice. I usually can get some writing done there.

The only positives in my life right now are the loml and my extended family.

I know. It's been a while. I'm not sure what's been wrong with me. I guess I've been depressed (which is what it usually is I when I'm so unmotivated).

I cancelled my rsvp for the September russian language group get together. The meeting location was going to be too expensive. Sigh.

I haven't written anything for a long time. At some point I need to decide if I'm a poet or not.

The loml has gone back to work as an aide at a local school, this year as a class room aide in a third grade class. She really likes it so far (except for the fact that there's no air conditioning in the classroom).

All the grandkids are back in school too, of course, but this year (so far, at least) Jeff is picking everyone up after school since he's working second shift.

Well. I'll see how long my motivation lasts this time (I hope more than just a day or two).

Well. Tomorrow I go in for my angiogram. Whee!

I wrote a couple of poems yesterday, the first since the last time I was at the arboretum. I have several things now for next Tuesday's critiqueing group (it was moved this month from the first to the second Tuesday). I can't print anything out though; our printer is on the fritz; it acts as though it's printing, but there's nothing on the paper when it's through. It started doing this after a paper jam, so I don't think it has anything to do with the cartridges (Yes. I did make sure they were still seated properly.).I guess I'll have to go to the library to print for the time being.

I went back and read some of my earlier postings; boy, does my ambition ever die quickly.

Ah. Well.

Well. Here I am in the library at Kishwaukee college. It's 8:18AM and I've just driven the loml here for two paraprofessional classes she's taking. I'll be here all day waiting for her. I've brought a novel to read and a notepad and pen so I can write, so, I hope I won't get bored. Well. I'm off to read.

Well. I went to Lexington last weekend with Chloe, Morissa and Jordan. Marcey and the Texas grandkids were there at the same time, so I got to visit with them again. Plus. I got to see my mom, Sally and Bruce, Aunt Elizabeth and philip and Robin.

I'm still obsessing about refreshing my russian. Right now I've got four sets of language tapes from the library. I'm almost through the first set already.

I've printed out the poems I'm going to take to Virginia's critiqueing group on Tuesday. I still need to write some new things for Nicole's open mic on the 21st. I hope I don't wait until the last minute to do that.

The download counter on archive.org doesn't appear to be working properly, While I was in Kentucky I downloaded my manuscript for Sally and Bruce and the counter was never incremented. Oh, well.

The loml has gone with friends to the arboretum today, so I'm on my own. Time to finish that russian set of tapes and to get in some reading.
